1. There are several places around here that do a Wine and Painting night. We chose Spirited Art, which teams up with the wine bar next door. We had a list of drinks and appetizers that we could order.
2. They take us step by step on how to paint the picture. First we made the blue circle and then added the dark brown circle around. Then we added the golden circle and the red bottom. We then blended all the circles together with a golden color.
3. We then took a break let everything dry. Then we added the tree and flowers at the bottom of the painting.
4. I found myself being a perfectionist. I kept going back to it trying to make it better. I'm still not 100% happy with it and I'm not sure if I ever will be.

5. I really want to do this again. While I have no artistic talent, it was a ton of fun!! I don't think my final painting turned out pretty good.
And we had a great girls night.

It looks fabulous! I once painted a Harley Davidson canvas for my dad for his garage. He loved it. (but I have to admit I cheated and projected the image on the canvas before I painted it...hehe)
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I go to a place that we love. We don't have standard templates, and can do what we want, but the instructor and assistants help us out with chalk outlines. Otherwise I'd be painting a huge mess.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun at paint night! Your picture is very cute! I did a paint night twice and enjoyed it so much both times. I will admit, I was VERY skeptical because I am not good at art at all, yet my painting turned out decent! I credit that to the instructors, not my talent! I hung one of them in the guestroom because it matches perfectly, but the other one I did not hang since it doesn't really match anything in our house. I won't ever get rid of it though!

ReplyDeleteI'm not artistic at all... it's almost sad. And if I added wine to it.. I would end up with paint on my face and everywhere but the canvas!
They just opened up one of these by us and I have been wanting to go!
